Thanks Caleb, and you are right, many Catholics are very unaware of what the Catechism teaches of the blessings of Heaven to be brought to the earth. I am going to use this to prove to Jw that the Catholics always taught this since they, the (JWs) believe their idea is original. -

Even if it's true that the Organization is using its members as an alternative energy source----It's still the Truth.

"And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, `I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead, but of the living."
Good one Ding, I forgot about that one.

In this the Catholic concept is almost identical with Olam Ha Ba, including even life upon a restored paradise earth.
I didn't know that and I was Catholic before I was a JW
Village Idiot Not quite. Ancient Hebrews believed in a eternal spirit (ruach) that upon death would descend down into Sheol which was considered to be the underworld were the spirits of all persons, good and evil, went. They were to be in a spiritual coma so to speak, sleeping - not conscious but living.
I wonder if this is what was referred to in Peter;
(1 Peter 3:19) . . .In this [state] also he went his way and preached to the spirits in prison. . .

Why hasn’t someone gotten real pissed off yet?
by John Aquila ini keep reading of some guy who is so upset at someone that he goes into a theater and shoots 20 people..
or a kid that is so mad that the other kids made fun of him that he goes to school and shoots a bunch of kids..
or some guy that was fired from his job and he goes back and shoots of bunch of his workers.

I think the possibility is very real and the odds will only increase as the GB pursue their totalitarian heartless course of disfellowshipping dissenters. Eventually they are going to piss off the wrong person who is very unstable with anger issues over whatever.
I think so to Brokeback Watchtower

My theory:
In order to discover TTATT, an individual must have objectivity and intellectual honesty. Every good thing associated with those two qualities must be present.I agree, and that actually speaks well for all of us here.

i think the GB IS concerned about the possibility. This fear is why tunnels were built for escape routes underneath the original headquarters and why the New headquarters is an isolated compound with plenty of security and an airport.
I didn't know that. So they are concerned, good!

The Deutero-Canonical book of Wisdom addresses immortality in 2:23
Thanks kepler, I didn't know that because I'm not familiar with the book of Wisdom, but I know it was part of the Septuagint. So there was some familiarity with immortality with some Jews. So I'm guessing like Saintbertholdt mentioned, it was an idea that slowly evolved into Christianity. Interesting!
